Claw Rod
Cost: - (Unique to Heretic)
Weapon Slot: 2
Max Load: 14
Reload time (sec): 3
LC Attack: Fires a magical red bolt towards your foe.
RC Attack: Launches a burst of 5 magical bolts towards your enemy.
Range (ft): LC–400 RC-80
Speed (ft/sec): LC–200 RC-100
Damage: LC-11 RC–6 x 5 energy bolts
Attacks per sec: LC-3.5 RC-2
Cost (ammo): LC-1 charge RC-2 charges
- A good initial ranged weapon, although a bit inaccurate at range, it is effective in close-quarters battle.
- Right-click attack can produce a lot of damage in close range, making it a powerful initial ranged weapon.
- Can kill enamoured foes in the early stages quite easily when using the right-click attack at point blank range.

Flare Rod
Cost: 500
Weapon Slot: 1
Max Load: 15
Reload time (sec): 3
LC Attack: Fires a magical bolt toward its target.
RC Attack: Fires a white-hot flare into the world, brightly lighting up an area for a short time. If the flare hits a player or monster, it will stick to its target for its 10 second duration, lighting it up and making it an easy target for enemy fire.
Range (ft): LC–400 RC-1000
Speed (ft/sec): LC–200 RC-100
Damage: LC-15 RC–-
Attacks per sec: LC-3 RC-1/3
Cost (ammo): LC-1 charge RC-1 charge
- Deceptively valuable, the flare rod is one of the most powerful weapons you can buy early in the game. It’s pretty cheap and has a good rate of fire.
- The right-click attack for this weapon doesn’t do any damage, but it does have its merits. Try lighting up an area for your team-mates, or firing into a dark area to reveal an enemy’s position.
- The flare attack “sticks” to whatever it hits. If it happens to hit a moving target (say, an enemy), that target remains lit up for the duration of the flare.
- This weapon is useful from a high position in an open area. Able to see things that his/her team-mates on the ground might not spot, the spotter can identify targets for the rest of his/her team.

Charge Rod
Cost: 1,500
Weapon Slot: 1
Max Load: 20
Reload time (sec): 3
LC Attack: Fires a magical bolt which inflicts moderate damage on its target.
RC Attack: Pressing and holding the right mouse button will draw available mana into the rod, which is fired when the mana bar is emptied or when you release the button. It charges 11 points per second, at a cost of 2 points charges per second. This charged shot is capable of up to 110 points of damage (10 seconds at 11 points per second). If you haven’t fired it by the time you mana is completely drained, the weapon fires automatically.
Range (ft): LC–400 RC-400
Speed (ft/sec): LC–200 RC-200
Damage: LC-17 RC-11 per charge
Attacks per sec: LC-3 RC-1 charge/second
Dmg radius (ft): LC-- RC-10
Cost (ammo): LC-1 charge RC-2 charges/second
- More of a finesse weapon than a point-and-shoot one, the charge rod is relatively cheap. In the hands of a skilled player, it can be deadly.
- Holding down the charge for too long can give away your sniper position. To get around this, press “R” when it’s about to fire. You lose your charge, but it keeps the weapon from firing and maintains your element of surprise.
- If you can’t get a good line of sight on your target, try hitting the wall next to it with a charged right-click attack. A good charge will deliver significant area-effect damage, even if it’s not a direct hit.
- This weapon is good for eliminating a monster that has you targeted. Charge the weapon partway and release a right-click shot to make it wince. Then, go to the left-click attack and fire off several quick shots before it can recover.

Rod of Souls
Cost: 10,000 (May only be purchased by heretic)
Weapon Slot: 1
Max Load: 30
Reload time (sec): 3
LC Attack: Fires a magical bolt that inflicts significant damage on any target it hits.
RC Attack: Fires a “soul seeker” skull that ruthlessly tracks its target. It explodes for area damage when it comes into contact with anything, including enemy fire. The seeker activates after 100 feet and it can turn 120° per second.
Range (ft): LC–400 RC-250
Speed (ft/sec): LC–200 RC-100
Damage: LC-25 RC-49 per charge
Attacks per sec: LC-4 RC-2/5
Dmg radius (ft): LC-- RC-10
Cost (ammo): LC-1 charge RC-5 charges
- This weapon has a decent rate of fire, but it takes just as long as most other ranged weapons to reload.
- The best feature of this weapon is its right-click attack, a slow-moving skull that seeks out a live target. The skull will not seek out friendly targets, even if friendly fire is on.
- The skull can be outrun with a good lead (you’re not as fast as it is, but you only have to keep away from it for 2.5 seconds). It’s also not very effective (not at all, really) in tunnels. Use it out in the open.
- Enemies can shoot down the skull with their own weapons. Be sure to keep an obstacle between it and yourself – if it explodes near you, you can lose almost 50 hit points.
- The area of effect for the rod of souls is large enough that you don’t want to use it at close range.
